Draft Results

Man did I fuck up the draft. I picked three of the first 32 correct. Here is how the draft actually went with my pick in () and my thoughts on the actual pick.

1. Oakland--JaMarcus Russell(Calvin Johnson) --Good pick, even though I think they should have gone with Johnson. Not sure who Russell is going to throw to since they traded Moss to the Patriots. Guess they figure he is going to either be on his back or running for his life most of the time so they didn't need to worry about the WR, TE or RB position.

2. Detroit--Calvin Johnson(JaMarcus Russell) --Should be a much better WR player than their previous busts(Rogers, Williams, Williams). Gives Kitna someone solid to throw to that can catch his shit balls he tends to throw up for grabs.

3. Cleveland--Joe Thomas(Adrian Peterson) --Well at least Quinn won't have to worry about his blind side. Thomas is a bear and should anchor the left side of the O-Line for years to come.

4. Tampa Bay--Gaines Adams--I actually got this one right. Adams will be giving opposing QBs fits and will help make the Tampa defense respectable again.

5. Arizona--Levi Brown(Joe Thomas) --I had the right position just the wrong player. Levi will help keep Leinart off the ground as much.

6. Washington--LaRon Landry(Amobi Okoye) --I guess they were more worried about getting beat down the field than getting pressure on the QB.

7. Minnesota--Adrian Peterson(Jamaal Anderson) --Peterson is a good fit for the Vikings and a great upgrade at the RB position.

8. Atlanta--Jamaal Anderson(LaRon Landry) --D-Line is getting old (older than their secondary). Good pick to beef up their d-line and get it younger also.

9. Miami--Ted Ginn Jr(Brady Quinn) --WTF!!!!!! This is the stupidest fucking pick of the draft. Miami should be ashamed of themselves. What the hell were they thinking with this pick. You have a potential franchise QB still on the board (Quinn) and is ready to start right away. I know he went to Notre Dame, but if I can get over that in order to upgrade the most important position then so should the Dolphins. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. Ginn should be a great addition, but they needed Quinn more than they needed Ginn. Maybe they thought they were picking Quinn but spelled his name wrong and got Ginn. Who knows, but I am very disappointed in this pick.

10. Houston--Amobi Okoye(Levi Brown) --With Brown and Adams gone, Okoye is a great pick here and should help a young Houston defense improve.

11. San Francisco--Patrick Willis --The second pick I got correct with. Willis is a great addition to this young team and should step right into a leadership role on the defense.

12. Buffalo--Marshawn Lynch(Adam Carriker) --With McGahee gone this is a good solid pick for the Bills. If he can get used to the cold he will do well.

13. St Louis--Adam Carriker(Leon Hall) --St Louis needed tons of help on defense and Adam gives them a solid pass rusher. Good pick.

14. NY Jets(from Carolina)--Darelle Revis(Jon Beason) --Revis is a good pick. The Jets made the move because they didn't think he would be around at the #25 pick.

15. Pittsburgh--Lawrence Timmons --The last pick I got correct. Timmons will help an aging LB corps.

16. Green Bay--Justin Harrell(Marshawn Lynch) --Brett Favre is going to be mad at this pick. A key offensive player would have made more sense. With Lynch off the board, I think I would have went with Olson or traded down and then picked up Olson. This pick would have been worth 2-3 later picks and they still could have picked Olson(depending on how far they went down).

17. Denver(from Jacksonville)--Jarvis Moss(Reggie Nelson) --He was the only one of Denver's top three left so they traded up in order to secure him. Should make an impact on the Bronco line immediately.

18. Cincinnati--Leon Hall(Darelle Revis) --Leon and Darelle were about even to me so with Darelle taken and Leon left, they picked an impact player for the position they needed.

19. Tennessee--Michael Griffin(Robert Meacham) --I thought they would have went offensive, especially receiver, to help Vince Young, but with the suspension of Jones they needed to change their strategy.

20. NY Giants--Aaron Ross(Jarvis Moss) --Ross...Moss, I was close. I didn't even have Ross in the first round. Giants must like him though.

21. Jacksonville(from Denver)--Reggie Nelson(Paul Pazluszny) --Jacksonville traded down and still got their man in Nelson. Green Bay should have done this.

22. Cleveland(from Dallas)--Brady Quinn(Ted Ginn Jr) --A steal by the Browns to get Quinn right here. He should be a Dolphin, but they were too stupid to take him at #9.

23. Kansas City--Dwayne Bowe(Joe Staley) --They needed O-Line help more than receiver help in my opinion, but they chose a WR. Guess that is why I am not the GM in KC.

24. New England--Brandon Meriweather(Michael Griffin) --Tennessee took Michael Griffin, which left Meriweather as the best DB og the ones left in the draft.

25. Carolina--Jon Beason(Greg Olson) --Carolina's defense is getting old and Beason is a nice addition.

26. Dallas(via Cleveland through Philadelphia)--Anthony Spencer(Brandon Meriweather) --I didn't even have Spencer going in the first round. He should be a good fit on the Dallas D-Line.

27. New Orleans--Robert Meacham(David Harris) --Another WR? Not sure why Nola picked a WR with this pick. They have plenty of offensive weapons and needed to get some talent and depth at the LB position. They failed to do that with this pick.

28. San Francisco--Joe Staley(Chris Houston) --San Francisco traded into this pick and got a solid O-Lineman to protect their franchise QB(Alex Smith).

29. Baltimore--Ben Grubbs(Justin Blalock) --I had the right position (OL) just the wrong person. Grubbs will help McNair stay afoot so he can make plays.

30. San Diego--Craig Davis(Dwayne Jarrett) --Again I had the right position, just the wrong player. I think Jarrett would have been a better fit for the San Diego offense, but Davis is just as good.

31. Chicago--Greg Olson(Dwayne Bowe) --I like this pick. This gives Grossman a large target over the middle so he doesn't feel like he has to air it out all the time. I would have put him here in my mock draft, but I didn't think he would still be on the board at this pick.

32. Indianapolis--Anthony Gonzalez(Justin Harrell) --Not sure why they felt they needed another receiver, but I guess you can't give Manning enough targets. Why worry about defense when you have the ability to score 40+ a game.

Best Pick--Cleveland--I give the best pick to Cleveland for their #22 steal of Brady Quinn.

Worst Pick--Miami--Miami made the worst and stupidest pick when they selected Ted Ginn Jr instead of Quinn at #9.
